Across the globe, due to the spread of the new virus, Coronavirus (COVID-19), at least 200 conferences have been cancelled or postponed so far.
Unfortunately, BP20 that was going to be held in Nuremberg, Germany, is one of the conferences affected as the number of coronavirus cases continues to grow. I was really looking forward to this event, not just because it's one of the most important conferences of the translation industry, but because, this year, I'm honoured to be one of the speakers (check out about my talk on content marketing).
As conferences have long been the gold standard for presenting new ideas, exchanging opinions and strengthening professional relationships, there will probably be a significant impact on the conference industry. But events can always go digital. Fortunately, BP20 is one of the events that is going to be held online!
Now, you all have the chance to watch (from the safety of your home) most of the originally planned sessions and talks online. You will be able to chat, ask questions, see the slides and more.
You can check the conference's Facebook page for all the latest updates. In the meantime, you can always sign up at the BP20 official website and learn more about the program and the speakers.
Remember that health, responsibility and respect towards life always come first.
Together we can get over this.
